DURABILITY
Material selection plays a critical role in how delivery carts perform over time in clinical environments. The Guardian Delivery Cart combines durable surface materials with rigid structural components to support daily use and long-term reliability.
- KYDEX thermoplastic is used for the top surface, drop-leaf extensions, drawer fronts, and base panel, providing a durable, non-porous surface suited for repeated cleaning and high contact areas.
- Melamine panels are used for cabinet sides, back panels, and drawer boxes, offering structural stability and consistent alignment over time.
Construction Details That Support Long-Term Use: Drawer boxes are constructed from melamine and are designed to remain fixed rather than removable, supporting alignment and durability during frequent use. Stainless steel bow pulls are used throughout the cart, providing a familiar, durable grip that supports repeated access while maintaining a clean, professional appearance. These construction details reflect an emphasis on long-term ownership, helping facilities maintain performance and appearance over years of service.
CLEANABILITY
The Guardian Delivery Cart has seamless horizontal and vertical panels that may aid in ease of cleaning. The large drawer has full extension drawer slides to provide easy access for cleaning.
Smooth, non-porous thermoplastic surfaces support routine cleaning protocols, while well-finished joints and edges help reduce areas where debris can collect. Material choices and construction methods are intended to support consistent maintenance without introducing complex mechanisms or hard-to-reach areas.
EASE OF USE
A key feature of the Guardian Delivery Cart is its pass-through drawer, which can be opened from either the front or the rear of the cart. This design allows caregivers to access frequently used supplies regardless of cart orientation within the room. Pass-through access supports teamwork by allowing multiple staff members to retrieve items from opposite sides of the cart without delay. The drawer location can be configured above or below cabinet storage, allowing facilities to align access patterns with their preferred workflows.
Flexible Storage Configurations: The Guardian Delivery Cart is available in multiple configurations to support different storage needs within labor and delivery units:
-
A two-drawer configuration with one pass-through drawer and one large storage drawer for delivery packs
-
A configuration combining one pass-through drawer with cabinet-style doors for bulk or oversized items
These options allow facilities to select a layout that best supports their supply organization, standardization goals, and clinical preferences.
Expandable Work Surface with Dual Drop-Leaf Design: Care needs can change quickly during labor and delivery, often requiring additional workspace for supplies, instruments, or documentation. The Guardian Delivery Cart features a fixed top surface with drop-leaf extensions on both sides, allowing the work surface to be expanded only when needed. When raised, the drop leaves provide additional space at the point of care. When lowered, they help maintain a compact footprint, allowing the cart to move easily through patient rooms and corridors.
