Media Release: MedViron Reintroduces the Sotto Overbed Table with Improvements to Performance and Cleanability
MedViron’s Sotto Overbed Table is the only overbed table that can be properly positioned with motorized critical care beds and stretchers for a patients’ comfort and safety.
June 2024, Zeeland, MI – MedViron is excited to announce the re-release of its innovative Sotto Overbed Table, previously known as the Guardian Overbed Table. This overbed table, designed with comprehensive input from healthcare professionals, offers unique compatibility with 5th wheel motorized hospital beds and Big Wheel stretchers.
The table’s design ensures it seamlessly integrates with 5th wheel beds and Big Wheel stretchers. The base of the table rolls underneath the 5th wheel and Big Wheel, allowing caregivers to easily maneuver the table in front or behind the motorized drive mechanism without obstruction.
“With the previous base, if you pushed down on the top surface, the base would flex causing the surface to bounce slightly. The new base performs much like all our other tables regarding top surface stability,” said Dave Stumpfig VP of Sales and Marketing. “The new base is also easier to clean, the places for debris to accumulate have been removed.”
The Sotto Overbed Table features a patented aluminum column, ergonomic one-handed height adjustment lever, and a seamless KYDEX top designed for easy cleaning and patient comfort. It has undergone rigorous testing to ensure durability and stability, making it a reliable asset in any healthcare setting.
The Sotto Overbed Table’s final design includes:
- KYDEX Top Surface: MedViron has never had to replace a KYDEX surface due to delamination. KYDEX surfaces have greater impact resistance than standard thermofilm.
- Durable Construction: The patented aluminum column has been tested for over 10,000 cycles with no loss of performance.
- One-handed height adjustment for ease of use by both patients and caregivers.
- Infection Control: Designed for cleanability. The table can withstand all 6 types of EPA hospital cleaners and disinfectants.
